EnergyPROSPECTS has identified close to 600 cases of energy citizenship across Europe. Based on the collected cases “country profiles” reports were prepared as part of the ‘mapping of energy citizenship (ENCI) in Europe’ task within the EnergyPROSPECTS project.

The reports were developed to help respond to the primary research questions of the project:

  •  Which forms of energy citizenship can be found in Europe today? How can we account for their diversity?
  • Can we find the same forms of ENCI in the different regions/countries of Europe?
  •  In what contexts do different forms of ENCI emerge and develop?

So, they provide an overview of the diversity of energy citizenship in the nine project partner countries. In the reports you can find information about:

  • The main goals of ENCI cases in the countries,
  • The main actors involved,
  • The most important sources of funding for ENCI.
  • The distribution of ENCI according to the main ideal types of the EnergyPROSPECTS typology:
  • The level of citizen participation and control in cases,
  •  The level of environmental sustainability in cases,
  •  And many other issues.
